Along with going to the talk on Jean Dawnay we get to look around the current exhibition at the fashion and textiles museum which was the Zandra Rhodes 50 years of fabulous exhibition. This exhibition was really interesting as you got to see the different products and processes that Rhodes has used when creating her fashion and textiles.
In this show they showed both textiles and the fashion she had created throughout her career, I thought that some of the fashion was really interesting how Rhodes had used the fabric to create shapes and structure using the different fabrics to her advantage to create the best effect.
One of my favourite pieces in this section was a green dress which Zandra Rhodes used a contrasting green fabric creating a really interesting frilled piece over the bust. I really liked the detail and stitching she had used in this piece.
Another part of the exhibition was sheets of the different fabrics and the patterns that Zandra Rhodes had created. I found this really interesting to see the shapes she had used to create some really effective patterns and textiles.
