'Paste into' on Photoshop

Hello everyone,

So in my last computing lesson we were experimenting with using photoshop and one of the things that we learnt how to do was using 'paste into'. We had template images that we used to practice using this tool.

I started off by using the top template that I was provided with, once I had opened this image into photoshop I used the magic wand tool to select different sections of the top. To be able to select several sections at the same time, so that I could ‘paste into’ using the same image, I had to make sure that the several selection tool was on.

Now I opened a new file with the image that I wanted to ‘paste into’ the top. Once I had opened this file I selected the whole image and then copied it so that it was saved to my clipboard. I was then able to go back to the tab with my top on it.

Once I was back on the file containing the top, I made sure that i had selected using the magic wand tool were selecting and I went to file, special paste and then 'paste into'. This has created a new layer with the pasted image on so that I can easily recreate this same technique using different images.

Here is my finished file that I created using the 'paste into' tool. I really like the effect that this tool creates as it makes it easy to add a image to several different parts to am image. I also like how it is easily to reuse the same base image as it creates a new layer so I can do lots of experimentation and use it over and over again.

I hope you have enjoyed looking at my work and thank you for reading.
