Craftivist Collective - Mini fashion statements

Hello everyone,

So I have been doing more research into sustainable fashion and as part of this I have looked at Craftivist Collective’s mini Fashion Statements. This is a campaign linked with Fashion Revaluation to make people more aware of where there clothes come from. As part of the mini fashion statement people are tasked to write one of their statements onto a piece of paper and then roll it up in a scroll and tie it with a ribbon. After you have done this they challenge you to put these scrolls into pockets at shops so that once people buy the clothes they find them and think about the message you have written.

As part of my assignment I had to take part in the mini fashion statement so I completed the tasks that I have said above. I was really excited to do this as I liked the idea of giving someone a gift who you didn’t know and that you are spreading a good message to other people and it makes them think about how their clothes were made.

To start with I created my little notes, when I was doing this I was trying to think about what I was writing about so that it meant something.

I chose to make 6 scrolls which I would then put into clothes in a shop. I was a bit nervous to do this but I was really excited to do this. I tried to be quite sneaky when I was putting them in the clothes so that nobody saw what I was doing.

I would recommend for other people to do this as once you have done it, it feels quite for filling and makes you feel good.

I hope you have enjoyed looking at my work and thank you for reading.
