Finished wrapping paper

Hello everyone,

So in my last post I was disscussing my wrapping experiments and the patterns that I was creating. Today I am showing you my finished wrapping papper design which looks like this:

I chose to use the collage technique for my wrapping paper as I really liked the way the papers layered and how I could create differnt lines and use lots of medias in to my wrapping paper. I think it is really interesting that I did lots of differnt tests using fiffernt techniques and medias but i went back to something quite early on in my sketchbook. the original pice that inspired my wall paper was this:

I really like the differnt colour combinations that I used in this collage so I wanted to encorperate this into my final wrapping paper. After refering back to this test in my book, I thought the colours remined me of Andy Warhol and the differnt colours that he puts together to create his work. So this lead me to do some research into Andy how I was going to lay my pattern out. 

Here I also did some differnt experiments to see the differnt colours that I would use and how I would lay out the pattern. I did this by photocopping my test and laying it out differnt ways. Once I had figured out how to lay it out I started to test the differnt colours that I was going to use for my wrapping paper. To do this I chose to make differnt swatches using lots of medias and layed them out next to eachother to see what looked good together and ceated the contrast that I wanted. While I was doing this I also refered back to Andy Warhols work to take inspiration from the colours that he had put together. 

After I had finished doing all my tests, I started to make my wrapping paper. I really like how my wrapping paper has turned out as I like the bright colours and the way they contrast over eachother. I also like how I was able to layer the papers to create the pattern. To improve the pattern I would draw over the top to add more detail.
