Digital shoe design

Hello everyone, 

So today in computing we were given a mini assignment to complete over the next two weeks, this is so we can demonstrate that we can use the tools and techniques that we were using in class. We have to illustrator to use the tools and create an outcome using the program. I have chosen to create a trainer design and a t-shirt design. 

I started off by creating my trainer design, to do this I used the tool bar on google to find an image of a trainer that was larger then 2MP. I then placed the image into illustrator and created a new layer and used the pen tool to trace over the image. 

I traced over all the lines using the pen tool, creating closed shapes so that I could fill in the shapes after. I made the shapes overlap and then I could use the arrange the objects forward and backward so that they are arranged correctly and overlap how I want them to. After I had finished tracing over the shoe, I used the fill, swatch and gradient tools to fill in the shapes. 

I have chosen colours that go together so that they work well together. I wanted the colours to layer over the top of each other and be arranged correctly. Her is my finished trainer design and I really like how it has turned out because I think that the layers work well together.
