today I am posting about some work I did at college discussing different marketing tool in social media and talking about different social media platforms and how they help to promote brands.
Facebook
Facebook is used by brands to promote their products easily in the users feed .
Facebook is very easy to navigate around finding brands and products by using the search bar at the top of the screen making it assessable to everyone. Facebook has a blue bar at the top of its screen which contains a search bar and various tables linking you to other places on the website making it easy to use. There is also a long stream of content including adverts for brands and adds. There is also a stream of feed on the side which gives you adds and news stories. The logo is a white f in a blue square which is really bold and stands out.
Instagram
the overall design of Instagram is very clean and visually pleasing. The main pages are all designed with a whit background and a white search bar at the top the logo next to it. The search bar makes the website very accessible to the users. The account pages are set out very nicely, with a circular box at the top with the profile picture next the account name and bio. Instagram is mainly a visual platform which makes it an easy way to sown their products to their users in a visual way. This sight enables brans to use photos with some description to make their products eye catching. The logo is very brightly colored with the outline of a white camera inside, this makes the logo very eye catching.

Twitter

Twitters design is very clean with blocks of the colour blue which links with their logo, which is a white bird inside a blue box, they have their main feed in the middle with two side feeds showing what is trending and your account. At the top of the screen there is a search bar and other links so you can easily navigate yourself around the site. Twitter allows brands to directly interact with consumers, which if done well then it can have a very positive impact on the company.
Snapchat
Snapchat is designed so it is very easy to send photos to people. It also allows people to see what they are doing by having a story feature. Brands can have adverts that play when people look at stories which allows them to advertise their product in a video form. Snapchats logo is a white ghost with a black outline inside a yellow box, this logo really draws your attention as the yellow is really bright. Snapchat has three main pages which are, your message feed, camera and the story/ news page. These pages make it very easy to navigate your way round as it is very simple. On the story/news page brands can incorporate their adverts into the news feed which can then link to their website.
YouTube is a social media platform which allows creators to make videos and post them for people to watch. Brands can use this platform by putting adverts before people’s videos. These videos do contain links which connect them to their website. YouTube is very easy to navigate your way round to find videos you want to watch through the use of a search bar at the top. You can also subscribe to channels allowing people to stay up to date with what they post easily. It is slightly harder to search for brands using YouTube as they might not have a channel where they post videos so you would not be able to find then. The logo for YouTube is a red play button which really stands out.
How does Facebook help brand sales?
Facebook helps brands to promote their products by showing adds in the feed. Facebook is one of the most used social media platforms with a growing number of users each year, this graph shows the increase of Facebook users between 2004 and 2017. From the graph we can see that Facebooks users keep growing so there is more people to promote businesses too. This growing audience would mean that the target audience is growing meaning that they can promote brands to more of the right audience.

What is the purpose of a website?
The main purpose of a website is to show case the brand and its products to customers. Websites allow customers to find out information about the brand including about its products and how to get in contact with them.
How can Instagram boost a company’s profile?
Instagram can boost a company’s profile by placing ads in an appropriate target audience feed so that they can see the brand and she a picture add the bran has created. There adds contain a link to their Instagram page and website so you can easily access their products. Also, as you can see from the picture Instagram can monitor the audience that is looking at their profile so they know who their main target audience is and can promote there brand to them boosting the company’s profile.
Why post catwalk shows to YouTube?
Brands post catwalks to YouTube as it allows people to access them whenever they want and they are always on there for you to see. It also lets brands to link the videos to websites and to social media platforms. YouTube is a growing platform so there are more users looking at it every day so there is a growing audience.
